Wellington Trip

A group of 8 Room 5 students along with 7 others from the DLU, and Mr Metcalfe, spent a week in Wellington. We flew down on Monday 24 May, visited Zealandia (the Karori Wildlife Centre), Parliament, Te Papa, the WETA Cave, Capital E (twice), and went for a helicopter ride over the city, plus we took in a movie, went rock wall climbing, and stayed at Base Wellington backpackers. The trip was AWESOME! We flew home again on Friday 28 May. Those who attended were- Devon Davies, Liana Jamieson, Nicole Steere, Paige Buysman, Jasmine King, Alex Waites, Paul Barkle, and Hamish Carter. At Capital E we created a "Kahikatea News" bulletin on the first visit, and a "Wake Up NZ" breakfast programme on the second visit. Fantastic experience. Next year, we will be offering the experience again to a new group of Year 8's.
