Room 5 have been set a challenge to create a marble rollercoaster. The criteria were that the structure had to be free standing, have a trigger, have at least 5 changes of direction, take at least 8 seconds to complete, and use at least 3 pieces of friction to eventually reach the bottom and knock over a domino.  Lots of design time and thinking took place, plus a lot of scrounging for different materials, both at home and at school. The big day for demonstrations and testing to knock over the domino is yet to come!

Lunchtime Sport- Soccer Final Joint Champions

Back row- Georgia, Ariana, Jesse and Campbell
Front Row- Chloe, Max and Amirkhon
Room 5 qualified for the final of the 2015 Lunchtime Sport Football tournament again after winning the tournament last year, and succeeded to draw with Room 21 (the Sports Class). The final was played over a full field with only 7 aside in wet and slippery conditions! The final score was 2-2 with both teams having chances to win the game. Max Stephens scored the 2 goals for Room 5 and all the 7 players performed their roles exceptionally well despite the conditions. Another fantastic achievement for our class!

Room 5 attracted a lot of interest at the school Science Night for parents and families with their hair dryers and ping pong balls, as well as an experiment with melting chocolate to see which light bulb melted the chocolate the quickest. Lots of fun, lots of visitors to our stand, and a great night!
