2011 Rotary and Zonta winners

Two Room 5 students were the winners of the 2011 scholarships awarded by the Frankton Rotary Club and the Hamilton Zonta Club at a special school assembly to announce the winners. They were Jess Forkert and Sheridan Tuimaseve. Other Room 5 finalists were Hannah Jenkin and Josh Allen.

Students from Room 5 set two new Athletic's records at the school Athletic Sports at Porritt Stadium on Monday 14 November. Kayla Polley set a new Yr 8 Girls High Jump record of 1.43 metres beating the old record set by Gene Hustler in 1984 and tied by Jenna Rathbone in 2003 of 1.42 metres. This was followed by Jaimie Jefferson setting a new record for the Yr 8 Girls Discus previously held by Tami Parata set in 1982 of 27.55 metres. Jaimie's new record was 27.65 metres. Both Jaimie and Kayla later combined with Jess Forkert (R5) and Rae Zapa (R6) to win the Yr 8 Girls 4 x 100m relay. Other students who featured prominately were Hannah Jenkin who gained a second place in both the Yr 8 Girls Discus and Shotput, Annie Oxborrow gaining 2nd in the Yr 7 Girls Cricket Ball Throw and 3rd in the Discus, and Jaimie Jefferson also scored 2nd in the Long Jump.
