Room 5 have been very successful in all events in the 2011 School Triathlon. The team competition saw almost a clean sweep for Room 5 with the team of Aaria Pene, Anna Butcher & Kayla Polley coming 1st, Tayla Lewis-Devlyn, Laureth Chapman & Charlie-Grace Chapman (R6) coming 2nd, and Te Ua Peters, Sheldon Rogers & Trent Langeveld coming 3rd.

In the individual events, Jessica Forkert achieved 2nd place, although Annie Oxborrow crossed the line in 1st, but was later disqualified for not wearing shoes on the run. In the boys individual competition, Jonno Barnes was placed 1st, and Josh Allen 2nd.

Altogether, 17 students from Room 5 competed.

Lunchtime Sport Touch Champions 2011

Room 5 have won the Lunchtime Sport inter-class Touch Tournament making a winning start for 2011. We were undefeated throughout the tournament, winning against Rooms 15, 19, 1, & 11 in pool play. We beat the Sports Class Room 17 2-1 in the semi-final, and defeated Room 18 by 6-2 in the final. The team was Jaimie Jefferson, Eden French-Putu, Tayla Lewis-Devlyn, Laureth Chapman, Annie Oxborrow, Sheridan Tuimaseve, Sheldon Rogers, Kainoa Thomas, Te Ua Peters and Jonno Barnes. Swimming Sports 2011

The school swimming sports have again proved successful for the Kahikatea Team. We had many successes, winning the Year 8 Girls relay, the Year 8 Boys relay, and the Year 7 Girls relay. Individually, our students competed well with many winning individual titles.
