Mrs Bain's Farewell Assembly

On Friday 29 August, the school Principal Mrs Delwyn Bain retired after spending all but one year of her 45 year teaching career, at Maeroa Intermediate School in Hamilton. The school gathered at an Assembly in the school auditorium and farewelled her with an item from both the Pasifika and Kapa Haka groups, and the school sung the chorus's to the Sarah McLachlan song "I Will Remember You" with soloists by past and present students from our team. The ceremony was co-hosted by Room 5's Robbie Wilkinson and amongst the speakers at the event, Jasmine Podmore from Room 5 back-grounded the gift from the school of a quilt made by the students. Also to speak was the Board Chairperson Mr Mike Smith, and present with Mrs Bain were members of her family.
